Why is it okay to allow your son to do things & not your daughter? This covers many areas, such as hanging out late, opposite sex company, dating. Can anyone shed some light on this one?
Personally, I think it is wrong. We continue to perpetuate the ignorance that has been passed on from generation to generation.

It seems like boys are the ones that are supposed to be strong, so they can take care of themselves. Girls are always looked at as feminine and thus, need to be taken care of. Besides, everytime you hear of someone killed or a body found, it's always a woman or a girl on her way home, or to work, etc. etc. etc. So we basically have it subconsciously programmed that we have to protect the girls and get them home at a certain time before anything happens to them.

I KNOW I HATE IT WHEN I HEAR PEOPLE SAY "BOYS WILL BE BOYS" OR "HE'S JUST BEING A BOY". WHATS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN? THERE SHOULD BE NO DISCIPLINE FOR A BOY BUT GIRLS NEED DISCIPLINE? I NEVER QUITE UNDERSTOOD THAT. AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED THE PLAYING FIELD SHOULD BE EVEN!!!

Nowadays, there is no discipline among either one. I see young girls outside around 10pm or 11pm and later and I'm sitting there thinking...."where the hell are their parents? isn't there school tomorrow?"
