I recently read something that I found so profound that I wanted to share it.
Seeing the Light at the End of the Tunnel By Lisa Nichols
How do you create happiness and success in your life when one challenge after another keeps knocking you down?
You might wish to prevent those challenges from coming your way or pretend they don’t even exist, but trust me, that will get you nowhere.
What you need to do is bounce right back up and get into action.
How?
By looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. That light is not another train coming to plow you down. That light is the life you are creating. It is your dreams and your goals, and you have to make those crystal clear if you really want to succeed. Here’s how...
Take a sheet of paper and draw two intersecting lines on the page, one running from top to bottom and the other left side to right, creating four boxes. Label one box "Health," the second "Finances," the third "Relationships," and the fourth "Spiritual/Emotional."
In each box write down what success looks like for you in that area. What does it mean for you to be in optimum health? How would you look and feel? What new activities would you engage in?
Be very detailed as you complete each goal area. What would it feel like to have your finances in order and a surplus in your bank account at all times? How would you feel if you could mend a strained relationship with a sibling? What would you feel if you had a greater spiritual connection to a power greater than yourself?
On a second sheet of paper again create four boxes, labeling each the same: Health, Finances, Relationships, and spiritual/Emotional.
Write down all the action steps necessary to achieve the goals you identified on the first sheet. Be specific. If you want to find a job more suited to your talents, write down everything you’ll need to do to make it happen, such as researching the market, updating your resume, networking with peers, and contacting potential employers.
Now, get into action! Circle or highlight one action step in each category, and make a commitment to do each before the day or week is out. Then move onto the next.
Be sure you complete your goal sheet before doing the action list.
It’s very important to begin with the end in mind, said Stephen Covey, author of "The 7 Seven Habits of Highly Effective People." When you clearly see the light at the end of the tunnel, you’ll gain the clarity you need to create the life of your dreams!
